The police has arrested three suspected kingpins whose gang had been terrorising residents in Mushin area of Lagos.The
Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide, said the
that three members of the gangs were already in police custody.
On 21 April, a group of suspected hoodlums invaded eight streets in Mushin Local Government and destroyed more than 30 vehicles.
Braide said that the suspects were arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in their hideout at Karimu Street, Mushin.
She, however, said that the suspects had been on the police wanted list over their involvement in different killings and destruction of property within Mushin and its environs.
“The suspects were arrested while planning to attack some people in Oshodi,” she said.
“We are on the trail of other members of the gang as the command will not relent until total calm is restored to Mushin and other areas,” she said.
