Reacting on the allegations, the Special Assistant to the Acting
Governor on Media and Publicity, Aron Atmas, expressed "sadness" that a
well-respected Association like CAN could made such “unfounded
allegations” against the Acting Governor.
“It is very unfortunate that the leadership of CAN will make sweeping statements that are unsubstantiated. A responsible religion organization like CAN should not make such unsubstantiated remarks.”
He said the actions of CAN as further were capable of dividing the people of the state.
“They should provide evidence. Their comments are not responsible enough. In Benue state CAN did not accused Governor Gabriel Suswam of sponsoring terrorists. CAN in Taraba state is trying to divide the populations of the state.”
