Me leave PDP, NO- Amaechi

Contrary to the media speculation
that Governor, Rotimi Amaechi of
Rivesr State was leaving the Peoples
Democratic Party following his
suspension, the governor has said he
has no intention to leave the
acclaimed largest party in Africa for
whatsoever reason..
The embattled governor, who spoke in
a communiqué by his Chief Press
Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, on
Thursday, explained that contrary to
the comments by the State Publicity
Secretary of the Action Congress of
Nigeria, Mr. Jerry Needam, Amechi
remained an active member of the PDP.
Amaechi debunked the
claims that he was
making plans to join
the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN,
describing it as outright lies and a
figment of the imagination of the
opposition party’s spokesman.

Needam had, in a statement in Port
Harcourt, said the ACN had nominated
two members of the party in the state
to discuss on the possibility of
accepting Amaechi as a member.
However, the governor maintained that
he was already fighting his
suspension from the PDP in court,
stressing that he had never met or
discussed with anybody on his plans
to leave the ruling party for the
ACN.
